OK, so I have a set of drop spring to go on my S13 Hatch but will no longer be using them for that. I thought instead of puttin them up for sale I would see if they would work on my S14. Is this possible? Anything would be better than stock height so if these work they go on tomorrow. If not...I guess I'm making a for sale thread..:rolleyes2

I don't think so

You can always take off a stock spring and compare seat width and overall height.

You can always take off a stock spring and compare seat width and overall height.Well thats what we might try today.. I've heard from other places that it would work, but spring rates would be different so car would sag a little lower that intened only because the S14 was a little bit heavier than a base S13. I'm ok with that and I have no problem experimenting until my other car sells and I buy coilovers. I just hope if we go through the hassle of renting the spring compressor and whatnot, it does work because its not hard, but tedious work to be done. Thanks for the imput tho guys...

If anyone else knows anything else or anything I should look for then please speak up..

I doubt the spring rates are that different.

Ok I just thought I would post this to answer the question and add possibly a usefull bit of info to the site....After finally getting a full response from Tein, the tech told me that spring rates are same, but the fitting on the mount is why they are different. So different width is the factor...Thanks for the help guys...

the only thing i can tell you is that the rear springs on the s13 are way shorter than the s14 so the rear will sit super low if you put the s13 springs on. i am not sure about the front.

Well i will copy and past the email...

Thank you for your interest in TEIN High Performance suspension products.

The springs are slightly different in design, so the springs won't sit
properly in the struts and shock absorbers. The spring rates won't be much
different.

If you have any further questions, please let us know.

Kinda simple answer and they don't really elaborate much but thats what they said..

The strut top is wider on one and narrower on another ... if I remember correctly it's like a 1/2" difference whch causes the spring to kick sideways when compressed.

Which to me = :2wompwomp because I would have had my car dropped for free. I mean something of a drop is better than rock crawling.
