First note: I went from Altima fans to this setup.

Install was a little tricky, as #1: the fan is too big for a standard height radiator #2: the mounting holes needed to be drilled out a little to allow for zip ties to pass through.

This setup is very easy to install (power to the fan, ground from fan to thermostat, thermostat to ground) The only real complaint is that the fan draws so much juice, you pretty much HAVE to install a kill switch to keep the fan from killing the battery from running too long with the car off. You can avoid this by just wiring the fan to only come on with 12V ignition, but I did not want to hack into any more stock wires.

I picked up both on eBay for about $80 on the fan, and $35 for the thermostat. There is a seller that sells both for ~$100.

that sounds like a good deal...gotta be better than the stock condensor fan wired to +12v

Indeed. This fan is a BEAST. Too bad, 90% of the time, my car never gets warm enough to power it on ;)

you can fix the draw problem with this fan with a Nissan Quest Alternator. You have to drill out the mounting holes alittle larger but it is a direct fit and produces 120 amps as oppposed to the s13 80 amps and s14 90 amps.

Will it fit on a CA though? I need to look into this. Thanks for the tip!!

The issue is wth the fan running after the car is off, drawing enough juice for long enough to kill my battery. I had to get a new battery in 2 months because the fan killed the old one so many times, it would no longer hold a charge! When the fan is off, I see 13.8v, fan on it is usually the same, so I am getting enough voltage with the car running, but the battery alone cannot support the fan for long.

Check NICO for a writeup. It works on the SR and KA. May work on the CA also. You can also route it through the fuse box so that it will not come on if the ignition is off.

I had my Altima fans wired through my fuse box, but no matter the fuse I wired this one to, it would actually power that circuit after the igniton was cut. It was the strangest thing. I had it powered off the fuel pump, and it would keep the pump running after the car was off.

capacitor maybe...? kill switch is easier and cheaper though.

Exactly. I looked into adding a diode, but I said screw it, and bought a cool toggle switch. ;)
