woo, I didn't know this forum existed until just this moment when I saw someone mentioned it at NICO
I registered in a hurry cause I saw 0 posts in the CA forum, I was like WHAT ! gotta fix that! but then I registered and see the posts :(
Got mine running like.. December of 04? maybe? If I recall It had just snowed hard right around christmas eve/day and I was out there working on getting it to run and breaking it in with 2000rpm/20min in the freezing cold. Ran like **** cause I had at least one bad coilpack, and my FPR was shot... that was some time ago.
Still running whack, now that I finally got around to hooking up my boost gauge I've had for months, I see I'm running 10inHg.. gee, LEAK anyone?
Anywhos.. word!
edit: whoa.. backwards threads!
Seriously, you are as bad as me. Something gets screwed up, and I take months to address it. Gotta love it.

i just bought my CA to to replace my popped KA and i have no idea what im geting in to
Welcome to the club. I bought mine because my KA began the timing chain rattle of death. We're here to help. Between bio and I, we got ya covered.

I just got mine in december in the engine bay of an S14.. I love it but I need to get rid of the speed limiter. I was pissing off a couple cars that were thousands more than mine because they weren't pulling away like they were supposed to until the cut kicked in... Kinda scared me at first.. But yea, I'm in it with ya..

If you can get someone to socket your ECU, getting someone to send you a rom with the speed cut removed should be trivial.. I wouldn't do it yourself unless you're experienced with soldering ICs and such. It took me FOREVER to pull my rom off, because my crap soldering iron wasn't hot enough.. the PCB was heatsinking the heat and it was near impossible to get all the solder out of the holes so the ROM would come out. Once I got that done, putting in the socket was child's play.

Yea, as far as the tuning or anything related to the ECU I will have no problem paying to get that done. I mean, unless it's really easy I would rather just pay for piece of mind but at the same time I don't wanna have my car down for days waiting for my ECU to return.

It's not hard if you're willing to sit down and do a bunch of reading and learn how it works.. but you'd need to drop $50-80 on ebay for a willem programmer or some other method of burning chips. But there's people who will burn you a basic chip (like speed cut removed, or injectors or MAF changed) for less than that.. I don't want to make any promises for myself because I'm notoriously slow to get anything done.

well at least your honest. I guess once I sell my other car the next deal might be to go ahead and but a new as possible T28 model Turbo and go from there. I really want more power but its hard to get into a baja ride 240 with ugly wheels.. GOtta find a way to do both
LiveEdit is really easy to use. 450s, Z32 or Y33 MAF, and that GT28R (GT2560R) should net you from 280-290 wheel hp. Not a bad number for stomping on C5s. I can stomp on Z28s (my buddy with one hates that fact) with my 230ish hp that I have now.

So Rico, who do you know that does tuning? What are the rates like?
What kind of tuning? LiveEdit is free, and I know several folks (one of which is Bio here on the boards) that has the ROMulator for buring new EPROMs. If you want to stick to BPU+ or so (400hp maxish) then that is a fine way to go. I would never want more than 350 or so in an S13, so that is the route I will go one day.

Well I'm gonna find the best condition T28 I can buy, just not brand new because I don't think I'll have that much to spend. If I sell my car I will only be able to spend about 2k on mine. So I know T28 will be the way but I also want to try to think about putting some street-reliable-not-gonna-be-drifting-alot coilovers. Basically I remember you posting, or float from Nico, about 1500 putting the 1/4 mile times way down on a CA. I'm doin ok right now but want low 13s. I guess I'll tell you what I need and you let me know if its possible with finding good deals...
Suspension
Paint
S 15 Helical ( Will only use that, I don't wanna hear anything about welded diffs)
T28
Tune... BTW, I just found out that I can get tuned by a local guy name St00pid for 80 bucks and 3 pulls. I just hope he is familiar with CA.
I kinda figure I will fall in to needing injectors, pump, and another MAF. Am I correct on assuming this? I basically want more headroom to make power and not necessarily max out now.
Low 13s is a SR20 T25G, Walbro 255, Nismo FPR, 3" turbo back, and 12psi or so. Plus a good launch and drop the pressures on the rear tires and watch for cupping. There ya go. $500 and you get 13s.
KAE MAF will not max out till about 250hp. Same for injectors. Fully stock ECU can support 250wheel with a pump and FPR.

Are you kidding????!!!!111/?? I have all that in spare parts that I thought I couldn't use!! All i need is a pump then. How will I up the boost on the SR T25 tho? Will I need someone to chip my ECU then?

...I know several folks (one of which is Bio here on the boards) that has the ROMulator for buring new EPROMs.I don't have a romulator :( Wish I did, that'd be awsome.
I do have a Willem Eprom Programmer (http://www.willem.org/) I got off ebay tho.. plans are free, so there's multiple people selling cheaply built units from taiwan and hong kong etc.. you could build your own if you were so inclined, but the prices aren't bad.. its rather flexible but unfriendly, having to set a bunch of DIP switches and jumpers yourself to match whichever type of device you are reading/writing.. the software (free) for it tells you how to set it, but first you have to figure out which version of the PCB you have and tell it so it can show the correct settings, and then figure out where the jumpers etc are and which way they are oriented..
Damn. I thought you had a ROMulator. I want one sooooooo damn bad. I guess it is Chris (c-rad) that has the ROMulator...
