they some how made the 370z look worse. the back has wayyyy to much going on. they need to loose the maxima rear tails and put a subtle spoiler instead of the ebay looking thing. but thats just my opinion

i kind of agree. reminds me of a veilside kitted 350. however those wheels might look good on an s14 if they weren't 19's...
I think there is a Porsche GT3 looking for its rear wing somewhere :/:

Engineering aside, I am not a fan of either Nismo version (Z33 or Z34) for the sole reason that those add-on exterior pieces look visually cheesy to me.

You would think that car companies would clue in that the majority of their audience likes to see some decent lip on their wheels and would do likewise to offer some as OEM.

If an OEM did lipped wheels, the conservative offsets mandated would mean small lips--of which people would just criticize. Not to mention 2 and 3 piece lipped wheels are generally heavy, even with a forged face. A heavy wheel would hinder performance on the road and on the track.
The rear wheels on that car are probably 19x10+35 or so. Or 20x10.5+44. Or some other weird, high offset size. That would mean small lips, which are not liked.
For a car that has sporting pretensions, a 1 piece, extremely high quality, forged, lightweight wheel is more in line. Especially a concave faced wheel made by RAYS. That's pretty much spot on with the overall esthetic of the car.
In any case, it sounds as if you're not a fan of the Nismo 370Z, at least cosmetically. That is completely fine--because at the price of the Nismo edition, you can buy a normal one and throw some lipped wheels on. And still save money in the end.
That's what Nissan is getting at. The Nismo is their cheesy, little baby and if you don't like it, there's dozens of other ways to do up a 370Z. They could try to please everyone, but instead, they just riced it up and made it look like a Hot Wheels.
I kinda like Hot Wheels. Haha.

Nissan and Rays designed and made a reasonably attractive wheel for the Infinity G35 Coupe:

As for the Nismo versions, while being a possible collector piece (nothing else), one can find much better aftermarket performance parts and eye bits for the money.
Just my $0.02

Agreed, looks super ricerish. I REALLY dislike the rear and wing.
Unless it has an oil cooler, the oil temp gauge will never be that low haha.
I do like the Z33 Nismo better, but I will have to see one of these in person before I totally write it off. I have never been a fan of any Z past the S130, but I did like the Z34 once I saw it in person. It has a lot of character.

Yeah, I have often thought about acquiring a set of these.

They may look that way in some cases, but they do perform.
I was actually impressed with the Z33 version; it was the first N/A Z to keep up with me in traffic. Seems to be a very quick car. And anything that is that comprehensively tuned from the factory has to be good. Plus, I am a bit of a Nismo whore.
